One widget to do both a .220 inch radius for short tang guns (Springfield) & .250 inch radius for long tang guns (Colt). As a gunsmith myself I envisioned this dual purpose scribe to accommodate both frames and at half the cost of having to have two separate scribes. I know you will appreciate the versatility and accuracy of the Beavertail scribe widget.
Instructions:
Your first one will look great, and they will just keep getting better.
Note: The pin has a very fine point. If you want a wider line, simply snip tip with wire cutters.

Step 1:
Place the scribe pin in the proper hole of the jig for the frame style being worked on (Fig 1)

Step 2:
Place the post on the jig into the hole that accommodates the thumb safety. (Fig 2)
As you turn the jig back and forth it will move up and down in the hole to mark the uneven surface. (Fig 3)

Grind slowly to the line until you get a perfect beavertail fit. (Fig 4)

Make sure the table of the grinder or sander is 90º to the stone or belt.
